Father Daughter Dance

It's with the hands that grazed the satin green dress

 I dance

Swaying to the tunes of the trumpets that blessed my ears

Spinning

Losing sight of those hands for which held me upright

Beaming with light

I twirl, knowing I will never fall in his embrace

For which I trust him with my life

He says

We will do this dance once more on your wedding day

One step at a time I rest my bare feet on his large toes

And on the kitchen floor that lie beneath

We dance
